Power Yoga

Power Yoga is  a vigorous strength and mobility focused practise that brings elements of the classical Ashtanga and Iyengar styles together.    The sequencing of poses varies depending on the class themes but always with a focus on alignment, a balance between strength building and flexibility. The pace is dynamic and regular practitioners enjoy benefits such as: enhanced stamina, flexibility, posture alignment and correction, clearer mental focus, it burns more calories than most traditional forms of yoga and therefore can help with weight loss.

Sara’s classes are always challenging, with a balance between playfulness and discipline that encourages self-awareness, healing and self-care. 

Barre

Valetudo Barre & BodyAlign have been gaining popularity due to the combination of high energy, full body burn and focused body awareness development. By working with control and breath, the subtle muscle-movers within the glutes, core and back you improve posture, body awareness, strength and stability. 

Most barre-based classes use a combination of postures inspired by ballet and other disciplines like Yoga and Pilates. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles) combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements. Floor barre tends to be conducted without the ‘barre’ for stability, favouring stabiliser muscles to increase the difficulty and increase the caloric burn. We do use props like: bands, blocks, pilates balls, light hand-weights and sliders.
